The DSCI’s work is fielded by CGE and the Global Experts Group (GEG), a team comprised of top supply chain executives from companies around the world. The GEG acts as the DSCI’s principal mechanism to develop the research and applied management learning.

The Institute focuses on key management areas of the digital supply chain:

  • Demand: real-time continuous engagement with customers
  • People: company culture and organization
  • Technology: enterprise/platform agility and customer visibility
  • Risk: mitigate risks and enhance management capabilities

History of the Digital Supply Chain Institute

The DSCI began as an initiative at the Center for Global Enterprise to research and write a white paper about best practices for global enterprises seeking to grow their Digital Supply Chain. In order to complete this initiative, the DSCI gather 23 companies to serve as members of their Global Experts Group (GEG). The GEG convened to discuss the most pressing issues surrounding the Digital Supply Chain and their input contributed to the DSCI’s first white paper, Digital Supply Chains: A Frontside Flip . The paper received international media attention which motivated the expansion of the Institute. The DSCI has formulated its 2017 research agenda to reflect and expand upon the findings of the Frontside Flip whitepaper.

2022 DSCI Research Agenda

The DSCI will produce tools and reports on the following topics:

  • Landing the Frontside Flip
  • Digital Change Management
  • Direct-to-Customer Research
  • Talent Recruitment and Retention
